The World Travel & Tourism Council calculated that tourism generated ₹14.02 lakh crore (US$220 billion) or 9.6% of the nation's GDP in 2016 and supported 40.343 million jobs, 9.3% of its total employment



Investment for  New and old spots development so that incoming 3 - 5 years  it will create revenue for the government 

Needed more work hard and defining target and responsibility for state government and central government

  1. Street Food 24X7 Concept in every city to Increase employment, to increase tourism, and promote culture. The government need to give free ground space to implement this concept for " minimum- 1000 Shop"
  2. Indian Food chain at all International Airport
  3. Food chain small entrepreneur/ enterprise to promote city culture.
  4. If government start giving tax benefit in LTA every year and include hotel, taxi, railway, restaurant, auto in LTA consideration this will boost truism, hotel & restaurant business and bring lots of job opportunity in this sector. Also LTA Tax-free limit need to increase up to 1 to 1.5 lakh to boost this sector.
  5. At the end government going to receive the tax on these services.

Travel & Tourism Competitiveness Index, placed India at the 65th position among 140 nations in 2013. India-Japan Global Partnership Summit to focus on strengthening Trans-Asian Buddhist circuit

The second India Japan Global Partnership Summit (IJGPS) from December 15-18, 2013, at the India Expo Mart, Greater Noida, NCR, will along with other sectors, focus on tourism and the development of the Trans-Asian Buddhist circuit, which will boost tourism. The summit is an initiative of India Center Foundation (ICF), a not for profit and non-partisan organization that has been working diligently as a catalyst to India’s nation-building processes.

State to hardsell Hills, Sunderbans in London mart News comes in knowledge –Times of India- October 30 ,2013



The state government will try to hardsell Darjeeling, Sunderbans and Digha-Mandarmani to foreign tourists at the London travel mart. Some new items which have won geographical indications, like Baluchari sari and Tulai Panjee rice, will also feature in Bengal's stall.
The London travel mart will be held between November 4 and 8
The tourism department is trying to showcase Sunderbans to foreign tourists and for that, plans are on to develop jetties of Sunderbans, so that travelling can be much safer and easier while getting off and boarding the boats. Moreover, the government has plans to organize trips to the remote islands and introduce speed boat rides as well.
To improve connectivity with Mayapur in Nadia, where the Iskcon temple is located and another gigantic temple is coming up, the state government is considering the prospect of introducing chopper rides from the city. As foreign tourists often visit Mayapur, Iskcon is looking for a helipad close by.



West Bengal's Rs.120-crore fillip for tourism

Commissioner Bhaskar Khulbe said here Saturday.
The money already allotted to the West Bengal Tourism Department by the chief minister will be used to develop 11 projects that include resorts, hotels and tourism hubs, basically in rural parts of the state.
"West Bengal is emerging as one of the fastest developing states in the country. We also want to make it a hub of working opportunity for youths of the state, with the tourism sector as one source for employment for them," said Khulbe.
"To draw more and more tourists, both from abroad and the various states of India, the projects will be developed under the Public Private Partnership mode and collaboration will be sought from foreign firms," he said.
"Denmark has already shown its willingness to join hands with the West Bengal government to upgrade the state's tourism to a new level," Khulbe added.

Madhya Pradesh Tourism




Madhya Pradesh has won the best state tourism award for comprehensive development of tourism sector Women's helpline to cater to kids' complaints also: Director general of police (DGP) Nandan Dube on Tuesday said state women's helpline 1090 would also cater to complaints of children.

Currently, child helpline 1098 is being run by Childline in 21 districts. It is being monitored from Mumbai. All the superintendents of police (SPs) have been informed in this regard. Besides, being the nodal officer for the women helpline, crimes against women additional director general (ADG) would also be the nodal officer for minor-related complaints. These complaints would be dealt with sensitively and with top priority, said the DGP.

Kerala to boost tourism


Promoting state tourism has been one of the top priorities of the present KeralaGovernment. In today’s times social media forms a good portion in your marketing and promotional strategy. However, merely opening a Facebook page doesn’t equate to a social media marketing strategy.

Kerala Tourism has created official Facebook pages in French and German languages, thus becoming the first tourism board in India to launch pages in a foreign language in social media. The pages contain details of the destinations in French (https://www.facebook.com/KeralaTourismeOfficiel) and in German (https://www.facebook.com/KeralaTourismus) languages to help tourists from the respective countries in their preparations, and to enable them to understand the experience offered by the state, a release stated. 

“In the technology-driven world of today where information can be made available on mobile phones and computers, the choice of language plays a significant role, especially to reach out to a wider audience. Language should not be a barrier in connecting with people,”

BHUBANESWAR: The state government has decided to develop 11 new tourist spots in the state. "There are many lesser known sites, which have the potential to attract tourists. India's ranking in the TTCI of World Economic Forum moved from 65rd position to 52nd position in 2015. Now, India has moved up by another 12 positions and ranked at 40th position.
